 In 1973, Edgil Bros. Construction Limited was established by Ed and Gil Guimaraes (hence Edgil). Over the next 35 years, operating as Edgil Pools, they built over 1600 wonderful pools. Customers take great pride in these creations and real estate listings often mention an ‘Edgil Pool’ as a selling point. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Gil passed away suddenly in November 2008. Ed kept the company going for one more year in order to fulfill existing commitments, but Edgil Bros. Contraction Limited closed its doors November 2009. 

After several years of working for Edgil Bros. Construction, Phil and Sigi Guimaraes determined that there was a growing need for pool service within the industry. In 1981, they purchased the swimming pool service and supply division of Edgil Pools, in order to provide a dedicated service operation for pool owners. What began as a ‘Mom & Pop Shop’, soon flourished into a respected, knowledgeable, and steadfast operation, Edgil Pool Services Ltd. Now, the company has nearly 20 employees along with 5 service vehicles on the road to help meet customer’s needs.

In 2014, long time employee and service manager, Joe Rodrigues, acquired Edgil Pool Services Ltd. With 22 years of swimming pool experience, under the tutelage of Phil and Sigi Guimaraes, Edgil Pool Services continues to provide the exceptional service that has been associated with the ‘Edgil’ name for over 35 years.
